ITE at UCLA wants to provide the best in-the-field experiences that the City of Angels can offer! Working with various companies, we were able to secure a wide variety of fun and informational experiences!
Big Blue Bus(BBB)/Santa Monica Department of Transportation Field trip
Our biggest field trip of the day, students will join SaMoDoT for a presentation about local implementations and projects that are being done around the city that makes Santa Monica the multi-modal city that it is today. SaMoDOT will also be giving a tour of their Bus Yard to show us where the magic happens!
Automated Traffic Surveillance and Control (ATSAC) Center
Join us at ATSAC to learn more about the inner workings of signal timing around Los Angeles county. ATSAC is responsible for programming the system with special signal timings for major special events at venues such as the Coliseum, Dodger Stadium, and Staples Center/LA Live.
City of Beverly Hills Department of Public Works
Beverly Hills Public Works is an excellent trip to learn more about a local city’s experience working on expanding their multi modal solutions as well as working with Metro to implement stops in their city. The engineers with Beverly Hills PW will also be taking participants out to visit some projects.
LA Metro Division 14 Rail Operations Yard [Tentative]
Our very own Los Angeles Metro will be hosting a tour at their Division 14 rail operations yard. For those who want to venture towards a trip in the rail industry, or just like trains, then this is the trip for you! Tour the beautiful rail facility and learn more about rail operations from some of Los Angeles’ finest.
